JOB SUMMARY:

 

The Program  Manager for the Medical Staff Office is responsible for the medical administration and legal aspects of the medical staff organization. Serve as the essential link between Hospital Leadership and the professional clinical staff to promote and enhance good communication and a positive working relationship. Responsible for the management and operational oversight of medical staff functions including working with the PSH centralized credentialing/re-credentialing department, privileging for medical staff and advanced practice providers, maintenance of governance documents and related processes, and responsibility for adhering to the requirements of regulatory and accrediting agencies relating to the medical staff. Collaborates with Medical Staff Executive Committee, medical staff leaders, and all levels of senior and mid-level administration and management to support the medical staff.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.

 

Five (5) years of medical staff office management experience required.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

 

General knowledge of healthcare environment and specific knowledge of medical staff office functions and the impact credentialing and regulatory compliance have on an organization.

Ability to analyze and synthesize data.

Ability to utilize a variety of electronic database systems to ensure current compliance.

Expresses thoughts clearly, concisely, and effectively both verbally and in writing. Ensures a free flow of information and communication upward, downward, and across the organization by actively listening and encouraging the open expression of ideas and opinions.

Organizes work effectively prioritizes and sets short- or long-term goals and the strategies to achieve them. Aligns communication, people, processes, and resources to drive success.

Inspires trust and confidence among stakeholders through reliability, authenticity, and accountability.

Values and models integrity and honesty by acting in a just, fair, and ethical manner and encouraging ethical behavior.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Certified Professional Medical Staff Management (CPMSM) or Certified Professional Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) preferred.
