SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Reporting to PSH, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, the MSHMC President will lead a dedicated senior leadership team that will elevate the medical center's success in access, efficiency, service and quality. Together with physician leaders and the senior leadership team, the President will advance initiatives that lead to MSHMC becoming a top performer in quality, service and access, while being responsible for leading the organization towards the evolution of value-based care. There will be a focus on both the support of MSHMC and system-wide initiatives in collaboration with peer presidents in the other facilities. In addition, the President will oversee the development of process improvements that will maximize performance, and effectively engage both academic and community providers. The President will continue to develop a strong integral and symbiotic relationship with PSCOM and partner collaboratively and transparently with the Dean, the clinical chairs and other leaders in the COM. To achieve the PSH goals of the appropriate level of care being delivered close to home and improving throughput at MSHMC, the President will partner closely with the community hospital president colleagues to ensure that high acuity patient care is delivered when appropriate, at the Medical Center, ensuring that lower acuity cases are the province of the community hospitals. In addition, the President will lead and engage with others in external-facing responsibilities that include supporting philanthropic, advocacy and community relations, while interfacing with community, regulatory and political leaders.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Completion of an advanced degree in healthcare administration, business administration, Medicine (MHA, MBA, MD) or similar program required.

Previous progressive and broad leadership experience within an academic health system with at least ten years at a senior executive level required.

Expertise in performance improvement, financial management, clinical operations, and oversight of a large and complex physical infrastructure is required.

Extensive experience in partnering with physicians and physician organizations, and with nurses and other health professionals within an academic medical center environment; a record of building and maintaining trusting, collaborative relationships, and with developing and promoting models of inter-professional healthcare is required.

Philanthropy and development experience required.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

MD preferred.

Professional certifications are also preferred, particularly in LEAN or other performance improvement methodologies.
