Pre-Certification Associates are responsible for providing patient registration, CPT/ICD 9 codes and insurance verification. Registration responsibilities include completing the appropriate registration for the services the patient will be receiving, maintaining encounter integrity by selecting the appropriate billing number to produce the visit, verifying patient demographic and insurance information and working closely with the provider/clinic staff to collect specific clinical information required for obtaining authorizations. This includes confirming eligibility and obtaining benefit specifics, documentation of specifics, and obtaining referrals from internal and external customers for authorization to optimize reimbursement and prevent denials. 




High School diploma or GED required


2 years of job related experience required




Must have excellent customer service and computer skills.


Must be proficient in CPT and ICD codes.


Should possess strong communication skills for diverse populations.




Prior authorization experience preferred.


Prior hospital or physician office experience and/or has worked in the insurance industry capturing and explaining insurance preferred
