SUMMARY OF POSITION:
We have an opportunity for a Physician Assistant or Family Nurse Practitioner to join our physical medicine and rehabilitation practice at Penn State Health. The position includes working with a multidisciplinary team of providers, therapists, nursing, and other ancillary services to focus on the holistic approach to patient care in order to improve functional ability, quality of life, and overall health for patients with physical impairments and disabilities, The overall patient population may include (but not limited to): stroke, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, amputation, multiple trauma, cardiopulmonary disease, cancer, and other neurologic, rheumatologic, and musculoskeletal conditions. Position includes triage and discharge of inpatient and outpatient management, and consult patient management. Prior experience in inpatient rehabilitation or physical medicine, medicine, neurology, or orthopaedics preferred, but not required. Candidate must be willing to work with patients of all age ranges from babies to adult geriatrics.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):
- Graduate of an AMA approved Physician Assistant Program or baccalaureate or higher degree program that meets licensure requirements in the State of Pennsylvania required.
- National Certification in Pennsylvania or in another State with reciprocity and licensure to practice in Pennsylvania required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S):
- Relevant experience preferred.
