The Physician Assistant would be an integral part of the critical care team, working closely with the attending physician, the resident team and our current physician assistant to ensure quality care of patients admitted to the surgical intensive care unit (SICU). Responsibilities include but not limited to participation in daily rounds, assistance in the consultation of medical specialties, follow up and close communication with the surgical teams whose patients are admitted in the SICU and teaching and assisting residents with order placement and patient disposition. Apart from participating in patient care, the Physician Assistant would have an educational role and will provide orientation to residents and medical students rotating in the SICU. He/she will be working closely with our current physician assistant, thus having flexibility in making his/her schedule. Expected to work approximately 10 days per month and take 2 in-house overnight calls per month.




Graduate of an AMA approved Physician Assistant Program or baccalaureate or higher degree program that meets licensure requirements in the State of Pennsylvania required.


National Certification in Pennsylvania or in another State with reciprocity and licensure to practice in Pennsylvania required.


Relevant experience preferred.
