SUMMARY OF POSITION:

No experience required – on the job training provided!

Under direction of a Registered Nurse, the Nursing Assistant (NA) contributes to the basic patient care activities and related non-professional services necessary in caring for the personal needs and comfort of the patient. Responsibilities include recording vital signs, examining patients for issues requiring medical care (such as open wounds, bruises, or blood in urine), noting observations of patient behavior to nurses (such as complaints or physical symptoms), and providing physical support for patient mobility and personal hygiene. The Nursing Assistant will provide ongoing communication with nursing staff for assigned patients, and prioritize patient care in conjunction with other team members consistently. Our Nursing Assistants play a crucial part in assisting the team in meeting patient and family goals. Actual NA job tasks may vary depending on the unit or department assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):

High School Diploma

BLS required prior to orientation completion

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S):

Three months of patient care experience (hospital, rehabilitation, nursing home, or in-home health setting)

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) experience

Patient Care Assistant (PCA) / Patient Care Tech (PCT) experience

Nurse Aide experience

Nurse Aide Certificate, Medical Assistant Certification/Diploma, or EMT Certification

Experience working in an acute care setting

Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with hospital personnel and patient populations.

Able to prioritize duties and work as a team member.

Displays empathy for patient needs.

Consistently demonstrates integrity, positive attitude, and respect for others.
