JOB SUMMARY:
The division of Orthopaedic Trauma at Penn State Health- Hershey seeks an advanced practice provider to assist in the care of our surgical and non-surgical orthopaedic Trauma patients. Majority of time will be spent focusing on inpatient management of trauma patients. Penn State Hershey Medical Center is a Level 1 trauma hospital, and sees a range of orthopaedic trauma conditions. The inpatient APP will be responsible for day-to-day management of both primary patients on the orthopaedic trauma service as well as consults. This APP handles both medical and orthopaedic management, as well as discharge planning.
This position will also include outpatient coverage as needed as well, both on service as well as in our Acute injury clinic. Ideal candidate will have the ability to see general orthopaedic conditions, including diagnosis and management.
The ideal candidate will have previous orthopedic experience, preferably in inpatient orthopaedics. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work well in small teams and interact with other surgical and medical specialties, including Internal Medicine, General Surgery Trauma, PT/OT, and Discharge planners.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):
- Masters Degree in Nursing with clinical specialization required.
- Two (2) years' work experience as a RN required.
- Current licensed to practice as a CRNP by Pennsylvania Board of Nurse Examiners required.
