SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Heart and Vascular Institute of the Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center is seeking professional advanced practice provider to work as an integral member of the Cardiac Surgery team. Primary responsibilities of this position include admitting patients, performing history & physicals, inpatient rounds and medical management of intermediate and acute care level patients, planning and discharge of patients, and participation with surgeons in inpatient consults. This position is to provide medical planning and management of cardiac surgery patients in the hospital on floor or intermediate care status. Responsible for assisting physicians in the medical care and management of patients, performing such functions as making rounds, physical examinations, and other patient examinations, injections, care of wounds, arranging for patient referrals. Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner certification is required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):

  • Master’s degree in Nursing
  • Currently licensed to practice as a Nurse Practitioner by State of employment
  • Two years’ prior experience as a nurse required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
