JOB SUMMARY:

The Academic Practice Division of Penn State Health seeks a full-time, mental health intern. The Internship program is a two-year (24 month) clinical program designed to provide post master’s candidates education and clinical training while gaining supervised clinical hours to become licensed eligible towards LCSW/LPC. As part of their training, the candidate will provide direct clinical care to a diverse population of individuals, families and groups consisting of care assessments, therapy and consultation under the supervision of a licensed supervisor.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):

A Master's degree in Social Work or related discipline is required. Preference is given to candidates who have experience in the mental health field. 

Minimum one (1) year of experience in the treatment of psychiatric patients.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S):

Preference is given to candidates who have experience in the mental health field. 

Experience with conducting individual therapy sessions.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Conduct psychological therapeutic services with skills in family therapy, martial therapy, and group.

Ability to utilize de-escalation skills and assess the suicidal risk of patients.

The ability to utilize technology to conduct successful telehealth visits.
