JOB SUMMARY:

The Penn State Health Medical Group – Contingency Pool is seeking a customer service-focused Medical Office Associate (MOA) to join the travel pool team! Spanning over a variety of counties in the South-Central PA area including Dauphin, Cumberland, Lancaster, York, and Berks counties; the MOA will be expected to float to different Academic Practice Division (APD) Medical Group offices for daily/weekly work assignments. The APD-based offices do range from General Primary Care to single or multi-specialty offices, so no two-day are alike! This schedule will consist of 8-hour shifts, primarily Monday through Friday, between the hours of 7:30a to 5:30p.

The Medical Office Associate of the Contingency Pool will be expected to perform the following duties throughout their designated assignments: check patients in and out of appointments, schedule follow-up appointments, verify insurance, complete referrals, collect co-pay, and complete end-of-day reconciliation while acting on behalf of the core staff. The MOA should anticipate completing administrative duties as assigned by the host office.

The ideal MOA for this position will be able to work within a team environment and independently. With each assignment, it will be expected that the Medical Office Associate will meet not only the Contingency’s Pool expectations but also those of the assigned office. It is important to be punctual and the 8-week introductory training course must be completed in full, absence during initial training is discouraged. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma or equivalent required

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

Basic computer skills

Excellent interpersonal skills

Ability to effectively interact with a variety of staff and patients

Ability to operate a personal computer and general office equipment

Ability to maintain effective working relationship with other employees

Ability to solve problems, or seek assistance from supervisor when necessary

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

6 months of customer service experience preferred

Medical Office experience preferred
