SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Penn State Health Medical Group Nyes Rd – Suite A is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant (MA) to join its’ ranks! Comprised of Primary Care and Behavioral Health as its’ specialties, the Nyes Rd – Suite A office sees 150 patients per day and operates on a weekday schedule from 6:30a to 5p (8-hour shifts) with later Tuesday hours. Occasional Saturday clinics will also take place throughout the year.

The hired MA will be expected to room patients, take vitals, reconcile medications, and complete intake questionnaires. The MA will also conduct Point-of-Care testing, administer vaccines and EKGs, practice phlebotomy, and assist with in-house procedures as needed. Clerical duties include completing prior authorizations, form completion, and overseeing patient e-message pool. Suite A offers versatility throughout the workday!

The desired MA will be a flexible team player who has experience working in a fast-paced office and have the ability to multitask. This office enjoys hosting themed luncheons for team building and has weekly food-trucks, so food enthusiasts will flourish with this office!

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S): 

High School diploma or equivalent required

Must meet current eligibility to sit for the exam with attainment of certification or registration through one of the Penn State Health approved agencies for Medical Assistants within 90-days of employment date; OR 

Current active status as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) through one of the Penn State Health approved agencies for Medical Assistant certification required

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or must obtain BLS Certification within 6 months of employment date

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S): 

Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program 

Previous outpatient experience preferred

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES: 

Excellent communication skills

Compassionate direct patient contact/engagement/outreach

Reliable transportation to travel among designated clinic locations

Flexibility to collaboratively work with various departments and perform varied tasks
