Manager Risk & Patient Safety - Regional - Divison of Quality Safety Penn State Health

 

JOB SUMMARY:

 

The Manager Risk & Patient Safety is responsible for managing regional wide Risk Management and Patient Safety Departments. Engages as an integral part of providing safe, quality care to our patients and continually improving the care throughout the Penn State Health system. Collaborates with leaders of Quality and Patient Safety, department and system leaders to achieve goal of increasing quality and patient safety and decreasing harm to patients. Oversees comprehensive evaluation, investigation, reporting and remediation with all associated regulatory agencies. Functions as Patient Safety Officer for assigned locations.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Bachelor's degree in healthcare related field required

 

Risk Management experience required 

 

3 years of related experience required

 

Prior leadership experience required

 

Certification in Risk Management or Patient Safety within 3 years of hire or transfer required

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

 

Knowledge of patient safety and Pennsylvania reporting requirements

 

Ability to conduct training sessions

 

Customer focused interpersonal skills

 

Ability to maintain confidentiality

 

Management and leadership skills required to supervise other employees

 

Ability to analyze data

 

Clinical knowledge to review medical records and clinical data

 

Computer skills-basic data entry

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

RN Registered Nurse experience preferred  

Patient Safety Experience preferred
