LPN JOB SUMMARY:
At Penn State Health, nurses are the heart of patient care. We are committed to helping talented LPNs achieve their goals and deepen their expertise. LPNs are empowered to make influential differences in the lives of our patients. The LPN role in our office includes, but is not limited to:
-Accurately obtaining and recording patient vital signs.
-Addressing non-urgent and urgent triage messages and phone calls.
-Administering medications, giving SQ and IM injections, and preparing medications for in office procedures.
-Assisting with medication prior authorizations.
-Assisting providers with office procedures.
-Documenting patient care with close attention to detail.
-Prepping for appointments and rooming patients.
-Collecting specimens, including bloodwork.
-High school diploma.
-Graduation from an approved nursing school.
-Current nursing license in the state of Pennsylvania, or eligible for licensure in PA.
-Basic life support.
-One year of nursing experience in an acute or ambulatory care setting is preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
-Ability to speak, read, write and audibly understands the English language.
-Ability to lift 25 pounds.
-Ability to deal courteously with patients.
-Ability to maintain effective working relationships with other employees.
-Ability to operate computer keyboard, terminal, and general office equipment.
