SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Working as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at Penn State Health, you are the heart and backbone of patient care. · Accurately recording vital signs
· Discussing health concerns
· Administering injections
· Assisting with procedures and documentation
You will be working with a diverse population of patients in the continuum of care. These patients include, but are not limited to: limb loss patients, pain management, Cerebral Palsy and other pediatric specialties, brain injury, and spinal cord injury. The nurses work very closely with our physicians to assist our patients’ needs. You will also be working alongside an RN to complete phone triage of patients, help patients acquire Durable Medical Equipment (DME), complete medication refills, complete prior authorizations for procedures and medications, and various other office tasks. MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):
LPN License to practice in the state of employment or eligible for licensure in state of employment required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) required prior to completion of orientation.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
One (1) year experience in an acute or ambulatory care setting preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Able to stand & sit constantly; walk frequently.
Able to lift/carry 0-10 lbs. frequently; 11-50 lbs. occasionally.
Able to push/pull 0-20 lbs. frequently; 21-75 lbs. occasionally.
Able to climb occasionally; reach constantly.
Able to use hands for simple/firm grasping.
