JOB SUMMARY:

 

The Lead Athletic Trainer will support our Sports Medicine department assigned to Alvernia University.

 

The goal is to provide athletic training services in the sports medicine program, including but not limited to: injury prevention, evaluation, management and treatment of athletic injuries, rehabilitation of athletic injuries, education and counseling of student-athletes, and health care administration for athletics under the supervision of the team physician. In addition to provide supervision to all athletic training staff and be a role model of professional behavior and communicate effectively in all interactions with peers, medical professionals, coaches, athletes and their families

 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Master's degree required in athletic training or actively enrolled in a program with completion planned in one year.

 

Must be certified by the Board of Certification (BOC).

 

Must possess Athletic Training Licensure in the State of Pennsylvania.

 

Must maintain appropriate AED/CPR Certification.

 

Demonstration of leadership abilities.

 

Evidence of continuing professional growth.

 

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

 

Master's degree required in athletic training or actively enrolled in a program with completion planned in one year.

Must be certified by the Board of Certification (BOC).

Must possess Athletic Training Licensure in the State of Pennsylvania.

Must maintain appropriate AED/CPR Certification.

 

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Experience with NCAA and PIAA rules and regulations. Experience with contact sports and related injuries. Experience with

concussion management.
