Penn State Health Hampden Medical Center will bring acute inpatient medical services to communities in Cumberland, Perry, and York counties.  The facility, set to open in the Fall of 2021, will feature 108 private inpatient beds and an attached outpatient medical office building.  This is a unique opportunity to be part of opening a new hospital with a highly collaborative and team-oriented culture. 




Responsible for the maintenance, repair and upgrades to the heating ventilation and air conditioning systems and their associated controls. This includes air-handling equipment; exhaust fans, variable-air-volume systems, furnaces, crematories, humidifiers and air filtration equipment. Also included is knowledge and use of the associated control systems for the equipment - both digital and pneumatic. Employees will work between Holy Spirit and Hampden locations




High School Diploma or GED required.

3 years of job related experience in residential or industrial HVAC, plumbing and mechanical trades required.

Valid PA Drivers License required.

Must pass a written skills test with a minimum grade of 75% and demonstrate hands on skills.




Ability to disassemble, repair and/or replace a variety of HVAC equipment including burners, automatic temperature controls, variable air volume systems, thermostats, pneumatic and electronic controls, pilot positioners, dampers, control valves, steam straps, crematories, exhaust fans and air handlers.

Ability to braze, solder, cut, thread and couple various sizes and types of piping materials, fabricate, bend, join and cut sheet metal.

Ability to read blueprints, plan and layout work.

Ability to read, comprehend and follow verbal and written instructions.

Computer skills.

Good oral and written communication skills.




2 years Vocational/Technical school training preferred.

Previous experience in operating tractors, high lifts and other types of equipment preferred.

Universal Refrigeration License and EPA certification preferred.

Industrial HVAC, plumbing and refrigeration experience is preferred.
