SUMMARY OF POSITION:
This role offers an exceptional experience for new RN graduates to continue to learn and grow in their nursing career while assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care to a variety of patients. Graduate nurse residents are expected to commit to full-time employment for a year, as well as actively participate in all learning opportunities that are offered. Please note that monthly start dates are available.
UNIT DESCRIPTION:
4 Main is a 35 bed, Medical/Surgical unit, serving the adult population with medically acute diagnoses. We are the unit of choice for Plastic Surgery, Oncology, End of Life Care/Hospice care, general medical and general surgery overflow patients. We also specialize in geriatrics and have a 6-bed wing exclusively for our dementia patients.
We are trained in caring for patients requiring chemotherapy and we are certified in Nurses Improving Care for Healthsystem Elders (NICHE), an international nursing education and consultation program designed to improve geriatric care in healthcare organizations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):
- Graduate nurse with a Temporary Practice Permit or Registered Nurse with license to practice professional nursing in the state of Pennsylvania by start date.
- BLS required prior to orientation completion.
