Equipment Technician - Central Sterile Supply

JOB SUMMARY:


Prepares, cleans and cares for equipment and equipment supplies for surgical procedures within the surgical suite. Maintains knowledge of Aseptic technique, methods of disposal and clean up of contaminated equipment and supplies to prevent cross contamination and/or personal injury.

 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or GED required

 

Minimum six months on the job to become familiar with all duties required.


KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively and follow instructions.

Requires basic knowledge of patient care equipment, plumbing, electric and mechanics.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Associate’s degree is preferred

Prior experience cleaning equipment or working in infection control areas as an Equipment technician.
