JOB SUMMARY:

 

Penn State Health is seeking a forward-thinking leader to direct the strategy, growth and operational objectives of the Life Lion operations across the organization.  This individual will develop guidelines, processes, and procedures and will be responsible for resource allocation, including budget preparation and personnel for all of Life Lion services.  The Director will make strategic decisions based on company goals and objectives.

 

Life Lion EMSis a 24/7 emergency medical service that provides 911 response to the local municipalities and non-emergency transportation for the Penn State Health system. These services include ALS (Advanced Life Support), and BLS (Basic Life Support) care with a team of highly trained Paramedics and Emergency Medical Technicians.

 

Life Lion Critical Care Transport delivers specialized care and treatment in pre-hospital and inter-facility emergency and critical care transportation.  Specialty services include air helicopter transport, pediatric critical care ground transport, therapeutic hypothermia (provided for post-cardiac arrest patients), and landing zone safety training classes. 

 

 

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:

 

Analyzes, develops and implements plans to enhance operational process effectiveness and efficiencies.

 

Coordinates contractual agreements and functions as Life Lion liaison for internal partners and outside organizations.

 

Preparation of budgeting and finance management for all of Life Lion services.

 

Develops process improvement plans, implements and monitors.

 

Maintains service fiscal discipline via monitoring and decision making, including staffing monitoring with benchmarking against action OI.

 

Emergency Preparedness planning and incorporation into service practices.

 

Policy, procedure and operational guideline development and oversight.

 

Maintains business continuity and development working with other organization facilities and external partners (i.e. townships, community organizations, etc).

 

Works in a dyad model for clinical leadership with Medical Director.

 

Maintains working relationships with other service lines and organizational care coordination services.

 

Oversees all of Life Lion Revenue Cycle working with PFS and their coding staff as well as staff documentation proficiencies.

 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Master’s Degree Required.

 

7 years of related experience required.

 

5 years of management experience required.
