JOB SUMMARY:

 

This position is responsible and accountable for the leadership and management of the Department of Imaging (Radiology) at Penn State Health St. Joseph in Reading, PA. This includes ensuring effective daily operations, quality assurance, financial stability, business planning, regulatory compliance, teaching, and overall strategic growth of the department, especially related to outpatient opportunities. The Director has 24-hour oversight of the department and will work in conjunction with the department's management team and physician leadership. All duties will be performed within the context of the mission and philosophy of the organization.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Bachelor's Degree in administrative or clinical field required.

 

Five (5) years of experience in supervisory capacity, with project and business planning experience.

 

Three (3) year in imaging experience required, including hospital-based and outpatient setting.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

 

Ability to work appropriately with persons of varied ages, racial, ethnic and sociological backgrounds. Ability to handle all communications in an appropriate manner.

 

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Provide all services in a professional, cooperative fashion.

 

Ability to handle frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workload and work schedule. Ability to set priorities, make critical decisions, and respond quickly to emergency requests.

 

Ability to exercise sound professional judgment. Ability to communicate effectively (orally and in writing). Active listening skills

 

Ability to articulate and present effectively in a group setting. Comfortable giving and receiving feedback.

 

Ability to deal with conflict. Motivates staff with use of effective communication skills and assertive behavior. Communicates openly and directly with physicians regarding patient care as well as physician/staff relationship

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Master's Degree preferred.
