This job is responsible for providing professional nutrition services (nutritional status and needs assessment, planning, counseling, and education) for individuals and groups for purposes of health maintenance. Responsible for providing nutritional education to the medical and general community via forums, screenings, and publication.

Key contacts include: physicians to identify appropriate patient nutrition plans; Department director to participate in staff development; and patients and families to educate and counsel on nutrition principles, diet regimens, and food selections and preparations based on diagnosis.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree with a major in nutrition and dietetics required

Completion of internship for dietetic registration required

One (1) year recent experience in clinical dietetics in a hospital setting

Licensure by the Commission on Dietetic Registration/Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics required

Licensure by the State as a Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist (LDN) is required

Membership in the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics is required
