Responsible for providing excellent customer service to all customers and referrals. Responsible for accurate and timely data entry into the Brightree Operating System. Responsible for maintaining a strong working knowledge of products and services. Obtain prescriptions, chart notes, authorizations, insurance verification and all necessary documentation prior to dispensing equipment and supplies. Answer phones and assist retail customers promptly and in a professional manner. Other duties as the needs of the business require.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Serve as the primary source for receiving home medical equipment and supply orders from health care providers and patients, and secure all information necessary to fill orders and meet insurance requirements. Act as a resource for information on equipment, supplies, and services to referral sources.
Assist walk-in customers with the selection of equipment, supplies and services. Sending out physician orders, when needed to meet insurance requirements. Verify insurance coverage.
Answering in-coming phone calls in a timely and professional fashion.
Stocking of HME equipment and supplies. Preparing orders for delivery. Organizing the delivery, setup or pickup of order with Technicians. Ensuring that patient charts are kept orderly and current.
Proper measuring and fitting of compression stockings and over the counter orthotics.
Pursuing and collecting required documentation needed to process claims. Process HME equipment returns from customers. Comply with all accreditation & regulatory requirements, and all policies
High School diploma or GED Required.
Experience with Third Party Payor
At least two years previous experience in a customer service/accounting setting is required.
Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and third party reimbursement
Experience with personal computers is required.
Medical terminology is helpful.
