The Clinical Staff Leader RN is responsible for assisting in supervising nursing staff; for providing leadership and orientation to nursing personnel; and for performing a variety of nursing duties in order to coordinate the delivery of care to patients.





The percentage of time spent performing essential functions is 95%.


Qualified individuals must have the ability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to perform the following duties:


Make daily rounds for assigned patients. Assess patient and family needs. Collaborate with the medical staff concerning plan of care for patients.

Provide direct patient treatment and care. Educate patient/family.

Serve as a role model for nursing staff in providing patient care. Serve as a resource person to staff members.

Assist in supervising the daily activities of the nursing staff. May participate in hiring, training, counseling, and evaluating staff.

Make daily work assignments.

Participate in interdisciplinary rounds, and physician rounds, if possible.

Meet regularly with supervisor concerning patient situations, to resolve clinical, and administrative problems.

Assist the nursing staff in evaluating and implementing patient care needs.

Manage daily operation of the unit in the absence of supervisor.

Serve on assigned committees.





Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing


Associates Degree required


2-3 years in acute care setting.


Previous work experience in a supervisory, management or other healthcare leadership capacity.


Active RN Registered Nurse license in the state.


BLS required.





Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
