SUMMARY OF POSITION:
This therapist position is located in our behavioral health outpatient clinic for children and adolescents in Mechanicsburg. The clinician is responsible for providing psychotherapy to patients and families, ongoing treatment planning, and assessing patient clinical status and therapeutic progress. Candidate should be knowledgeable and skilled in therapeutic techniques and skills in individual, group, and family therapy. Working knowledge of biopsychosocial and social determinants and it application to treatment and documentation.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Evaluates the ongoing biopsychosocial needs of patients, identifying needs/problems and determining a treatment plan
Provides psychotherapies and case management to assigned patients as well as input regarding the care of program patients
Engages as a primary therapist or co-therapist in group therapy to psychiatric patients and as the primary therapist in individual, families, and couple therapies
Obtains pertinent data in accordance with program and regulatory standards
Upholding agency policies and standards as well as ethical standards of appropriate discipline
Collaborates with outpatient and inpatient teams to provide triage evaluation and crisis intervention
Participates in activities to integrate service delivery throughout the Division of Psychiatry, i.e., committees, teams, meetings, etc.
Participates in program evaluation and performance improvement activities for the Division of Psychiatry
Participates in professional conferences and training provided by the Division of Psychiatry
Participates in education of students and other professionals
Performs other duties which the employee is qualified to perform as requested or assigned by emergency or other operational reason

COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:
PSYCHOLOGICAL COUNSELING-Knowledge of theories and methodologies for psychological counseling; ability to conduct a planned counseling interaction and design a counseling process to facilitate clients' progress toward meeting counseling goals and objectives.
PSYCHOTHERAPY-Knowledge of psychotherapeutic models, theories and methodologies; ability to implement psychotherapeutic programs based on the principles and procedures of mental health and related disciplines to increase an individual's sense of well-being.
HEALTH CARE POLICY AND ETHICS COMPLIANCE-Knowledge of health care policies for all clinical practices and applicable laws and regulations governing proper clinical practice; ability to demonstrate ethical behavior in diverse situations.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS-Demonstrates oral, written, and electronic communications skills
HEALTHCARE INDUSTRY

TEAM PLAYER-Must be able to work and communicate effectively in a team environment.

Minimum Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology or related field with 1-2 years of experience in the treatment of psychiatric patients
Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW) or Licensed Professional Counselors (LPC) or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFT) required
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS*:
